Arthur White Shield was born on June 1st, 1962 in Clinton, Okla., to Ray White Shield and Mary Louise Red Shin.  He is the great grandson of Chief Porcupine of the Cheyenne people, and leader among the Cheyenne Dog Soldiers.. He passed away in Elk City, Oklahoma on February 1st, 2022. He is Survived by his children Monica WhiteShield of Hartshorne, Ok, Harley White Shield of Atoka, Ok and Marsha White Shield of Durant, Ok.  His grandchildren, John Hargrove and Halee Hargrove, Cheyenne White Shield and Robert White Shield, and Sofia White Shield; Brother, Kish Whiteshield, Independence, Missouri; His nieces and nephews,Crystal (Moses) White Shield, Missoula; Raelene Whiteshield, Northglenn, Colorado; and Raymond Eagleboy (Jamie) Whiteshield, Warr Acres, Oklahoma; Arianne (Cory) Sheka, White Swan, Washington; Matthew Sheka, Jr, Missoula; Maximus Sheka, Window Rock, Arizona; Joslyn Running Wolf, Northglenn, Colorado; Rhiannon Eagle Speaker, Missoula; Josieraye Running Wolf, Northglenn, Colorado; Wades-in-the-Water Running Wolf, Northglenn, Colorado; Michaela "KK" Running Wolf, Northglenn, Colorado; Charlie Ray Whiteshield, Warr Acres, Oklahoma; Daisy Eagle Speaker, Missoula; and Rayelee Ann Whiteshield, Warr Acres, Oklahoma; and Raine and Blair Williams, White Swan, Washington.  Arthur is preceded in death by son, Arthur Whiteshield, mom, Mary Louise Red Shin; dad, Ray White Shield; sister, Lena Hart; sister, Amelia Whiteshield, sister, Kathleen Whiteshield; brother, Raymond Whiteshield, great niece, Allison Emma Rae Eagle Speaker. Arthur attended school in Concho, Okla.  He excelled at both school curricular studies and sports all through his elementary, middle, and high school years. Arthur had a passion and talent for sports, basketball and baseball in particular. He continued to fuel that passion his entire life , playing on local leagues and teams as an adult. He met the love of his life and mother of all his 4 children, Sequoyah Ann at the age of 17. It wasn't too soon after they brought their 1 ^st child, a daughter, Monica into this world In October of 1979, followed by a 2 ^nd child, a son, Arthur in March 1981, a 3 ^rd child and son, Harley in November 1982, and finally their youngest and last child, a daughter, Marsha in December 1983. After 16 years of marriage, they divorced.  However they never lost touch and still loved one another. He was only a call away for Sequoyah. When she died, so did a piece of him even after all the years apart.  He passed his passion and love of sports to his children, each excelling in different sports. Coaching each child in the sport they excelled at. He was most proud of Marsha, his youngest daughter.  She excelled in basketball. Marsha was a basketball prodigy he would say, much like her father. He loved watching her on the court. He especially loved watching her team win. He never took it easy on his children, often pushing them past the pain, frustration, never letting them give in or up. Not only in sports but in everything, he wanted them to be the best at whatever they were doing. Arthur attended OSU and obtained a degree in HAVAC heating, air and refrigeration. He graduated at the top of his class in 1994 with a 4.0 g.pa. After graduating O.S.U. he began his career in HAVAC that spanned over the next 30 years. Arthur was a very private person if so if he lets you in to his circle just know that you were special and you meant something to him. He didn't show love and affection the traditional way, being he never had anyone show him growing up in indian boarding schools, separated from his 5 siblings. He was reunited with his youngest sister and she visit once years ago, however he did not get the chance to reunite with his other siblings before their passing. He had planned to meet his nerves and nephews soon. Anyone who knew him new that he was a very intelligent man and if he spoke on a subject you knew the information was accurate and correct because he was the smartest man on the earth. He was the encyclopedia Britannica. He often helped his children with their homework Even when his oldest daughter was attending college she often called her father for help in calculus.  Knowledge was something that he soaked up and he never stopped learning, he was hungry for knowledge, and feed that hunger by continuously learning. Arthur was knowledgeable on many subjects ranging from, complicated math, electrical, plumbing, Health, history, science Or any other subject that he found intriguing or interesting. If ever faced with a question and was not knowledgeable on the subject, or did not know the you can guarantee that the next time you seen him, he was an expert.  Arthur had a sense of humor, even if he was only person laughing. However, his children are the most hilarious people on earth. He taught his children to stand up for their self, made them tough so that none could take advantage of their kind hearts. He was the strongest , toughest, and meanest, He was also most intelligent, generous, thoughtful, helpful man. He is loved, he is missed, today, tomorrow, always, and forever.
