Alvin Lloyd James, 81, of Haileyville, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, at his home in Haileyville.  Graveside funeral services are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 22, at 10:00 a.m. at the Elmwood Cemetery pavilion.

Alvin James was born on Jan. 24, 1940 in Jacksboro, Texas to Clino and Ruby (Swaim) James.  He grew up there and married Marie Maddox on Dec. 26, 1968.  After living in Texas a number of years, they moved to Haileyville, where they have lived the past 40 years.  Alvin was a carpenter working in construction, and was involved in the construction of many local houses.  Alvin was a big fan of professional wrestling on television and particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Marie James; a daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Danny Sartin; grandchildren, Ashlee Helmer and Matt, and Ethan Sartin; and a brother and sister-in-law, C. J. and Peggy James.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tracey James; a brother, Clyde James; and 2 sisters, JoAnn Dosier and Janie Miller.
