Aldona Smith, 91, of McAlester, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at her home.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home chapel in McAlester with Rev. Dr. Matt Judkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope House of McAlester, 1210 E. Cherokee Ave., McAlester, OK 74501.

Aldona was born on August 26, 1933 in Kaunas, Lithuania to Joseph and Anna Bielskis.  She married Richard Smith on September 5, 1953 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Smith of the home; children, Steven Smith and wife, Cindy of Garden Valley, CA and Caroline Echelle and husband, Michael of McAlester, OK; two grandchildren, Joseph Michael Echelle and wife, Lacey Echelle of Stroud, OK, and their children, Grant and Taryn Echelle, Kristen Echelle Ramsey and husband, Jason of McAlester, OK, and their children, Lane Hass, Ava Ramsey and Ella Ramsey; and a niece, Aldona of Krefeld, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anna Bielskis.
