Alan Ray Epps, 68, of Haileyville, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 at his home in Haileyville. The family will welcome friends for visitation on Wednesday, July 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Graveside funeral services will begin at 10:30 at Oak Hill Cemetery, with Brother Terry Sensibaugh officiating. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
Alan Epps was born on May 17, 1955 in Oklahoma City to Bob and Margie (Osborne) Epps. After high school he lived in Texas for several years where he became involved in law enforcement as a police officer. He eventually moved to Haileyville, where his folks lived, and has lived there for over 30 years. Alan loved working in law enforcement, and in his spare-time, he was fascinated by trains and motorcycles. Alan served several years in the National Guard. He was also heavily involved in military re-enactments, especially Civil War re-enactments.
Alan is survived by his children, Brandon Epps and wife Christine, and Rachel McNeelis and husband James; step-children, Christy Moore and husband Toby, and Stephanie Lenardo and husband Chris; his father, Bob Epps; a brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Lisa Epps; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and best friend, Tommy Lyons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Becky (Rogers) Epps; his mother, Margie Epps, and a step-daughter, Jennie Osborne-Meyer.
